Metro Access is a Canadian owned and operated company. We were founded in 1991 to provide flat rate long distance to customers in the Greater Toronto Area. Since then we have been committed to providing outstanding service to our customers.

On January 1, 2004, the Federal Privacy Act became effective for all companies in Canada and covers the collection, use or disclosure of personal information. We are committed to protecting your privacy and the confidentiality of your personal information. Any personally identifiable information about a customer is considered personal information and will be treated in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Metro Access only collects and uses Personal Information for the purposes below. We do not disclose any information to third parties, including the selling of lists of our customer base.


IDENTIFIED PURPOSES

  • Offering and providing a flat rate long distance service through the telephone lines
  • Establishing and maintaining communications with you in order to ensure you are satisfied with our services.
  • Determining, invoicing, setting up of pre-authorized payments, or otherwise facilitating your payment of fees for our service.
  • Notifying you occasionally of changes in our services, contests or draws, and referral rewards.
  • Detecting and preventing misuse or fraudulent use of our services.
  • Complying with the law or the requests of law enforcement agencies or regulators.

CONSENT

Your knowledge and consent of Metro Access’ collection and use of your Personal Information is necessary. We rely on the following actions by you as indications of your consent to our existing and future Personal Information practices:

  • Your voluntary provision of Personal Information directly to Metro Access via telephone, mail, fax, email or internet website for the purposes of acquiring our services, entering a contest or draw, or making a referral.
  • Your express consent or acknowledgement contained within a written, verbal or electronic application process.
  • Your receipt of this Privacy Policy, until you notify Metro Access of withdrawal of this consent.

LIMITING RETENTION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

We will retain Personal Information as long as necessary for the fulfillment of the Identified Purposes.
